Virginia's legacy of giving
Diagnosed with terminal breast cancer in 2013, Virginia was determined to make a difference. Virginia's idea was to raise money for research of her oncologist's choosing which would benefit people locally. She selflessly donated thousands of books from her personal stock, and with incredible community support, a huge book sale was organised. Many book donations were also received from very generous members of the community. The premises for the sale was provided free of charge by a very generous local couple. Just months before her death, Virginia proudly presented a cheque for $12,000 to her oncologist for the Clinical Trials Unit, Orange NSW. Her legacy continued after her death, with a further $18,000 donated in 2017, all contributing to vital clinical trials in the Central West area of NSW.

Virginia Cullane Books proudly supported the Clinical Trials Unit in Orange, NSW. This vital unit provides local patients with access to advanced clinical trials, reducing the burden of long-distance travel for very sick individuals. Our contributions were specifically earmarked for the 'Central West Clinical Trials', aiming to bring cutting-edge research and treatment closer to home for those who need it most.

One of our most memorable moments revolves around the very first fundraising book sale. Despite Virginia being gravely ill and unable to attend, her passion ignited a remarkable community response. Numerous dedicated volunteers rallied together, ensuring the book sale proceeded exactly as Virginia had envisioned, a true testament to her inspiring spirit and the power of collective effort.
